The glow plug does start the engine, which I thought was its only purpose. I started to worry that I lost compression but if feels normal when you pull the starter rope. If it ran fine yesterday and doesn't run fine today then likely the glow plug is toast. A glow plug can glow nice and bright but the engine may not run for squat without the glow driver clipped on. Change the plug with a new one and try again.
