Darkearth, yes, they significantly stiffen the chassis. With the entire system being one rigid assembly with 4 support bolt areas, the hull floor becomes quite stiff. For the Sherman it's even better. With no suspension on the inside of the Sherm hull the entire system bolts flat to the hull floor and makes it like granite.
