The simple thing to do is to adjust the curve so that the current you measure on the ground, with the desired prop, is linear and proportional to the stick position. That is, at 1/2 stick, the current should be 1/2 of the wide open throttle current. Of course at 1/4 and 3/4 stick the current should be 1/4 and 3/4 of the W.O.T. current. This produces a very linear power versus stick position.
Yes, you may adjust a little bit to suit your taste, or to make level flight cruise with a comfortable stick position (for you!).
Linear current versus stick is an excellent starting point.
