You might try contacting the manufacturer.

Since you are concerned, I presume you are sure it is on 27 MHz. Do you know which 27 MHz channel it is using?

In the USA 27 MHz has six distinct channels. Like 40 MHz, as long as you and your friend are on different 27 MHz channels you will be fine. And if you are on 27 MHz you will have no problem driving with people who are using 40 MHz. In fact there would be zero chance of having a channel conflict with the 40 MHz drivers.

Some of my airplanes are on 27 MHz. Never had a problem. And I have flown with other pilots on 27 MHz, 72 MHz and 2.4 GHZ without issue.

Car forums are your best bet for useful information on that specific product.
