Thanks for the reply. A power wire from the rx would be a good idea. It occurred to me as I was writing the post that I had no way of powering the r7 rx.

I've been thinking what I want to do with the 14mz as its going the way of the 9z, comparing the different telemetry systems offered and I'm finding jeti to be far ahead of everyone I've seen. Seems like it was more of an afterthought to most of the other companies where Jeti really seems to have a good grasp of it. I'll end up getting their tx at some point.

The profi box really seems to be a good alternative for not having the tx. Seacraft sells a mount it could be attached to and with a small adjustment to my tx trey could be mounted to the trey right in front of my tx. Since it has audible warnings just like the tx, it should work well I would think, but I'm just going by the manuals I've read and my imagination. I'm thinking I'd have access to voltage, capacity, rpm, amps, and with it directly wired to the futaba rx, rx voltage also. For the small penalty of the rx weight, which is very little, I'd have their telemetry system working just as the tx setup.

I think Jeti really has their act together on this. Wonder that more aren't looking into this as it supports electrics very well. Fuel prob not worth it. I'm thinking this setup with the bec set to 7.9 or so along with high voltage servos and a 250 mah lipo on a switch without regulator. I'm thinking forget the tx timer and going by the capacity alarm for ending flights.
