I played a bit with my Jeti stuff.
My current setup:
* Jeti Mezon 90 ESC Lite with BEC (5.8V) connected to Futaba R6208SB Rx.
* Backup rx-power from Scorpion BackupGuard (500mAh 2s lipo + regulator 5Vdc/10A + switch + LED + Shottky diode). Shottky diode is important. It prevents mismatching between Mezon BEC (5.8V) and BackupGuard (5.0V)
* Futaba transmitter
* Jeti R9 and DC-16 display (instead of Profi-box) for testing purposes.
Test 1:
R9 is powered only via Mezon red cable plugged in EXT-port. The telemetry on DC-16 screen works but unstable. For example, rx voltage display is floating from 4.8 to 5.8V.
Test 2:
R9 is powered via Mezon black cable plugged in BAT-port. Red cable is still plugged in EXT-port. The telemetry on DC-16 screen works flawless.
Conclusion:
Jeti Rx manual is correct. Don’t use EXT-port to power Rx. Use Y-cable to feed Futaba-Rx and Jeti-Rx from Mezon BEC. Pay attention to proper wire gage. Or use another cable. Apply a diode to separate BEC and Backup voltage.
Hope it helps.
