Hi Colin, thank you for the note. Your thread made me buy this Hawk and I am glad you are working on the second one. I have to admit that I am more picky than I should be at times and that makes the process longer. But normally don't have to ever touch it again once it is done. the grinding of the corners of the strut covers is minimal and would look fine once caped. (will post pictures later) but it gives good clearance from the wing's skin. another sticky point is the curved spot on the gear (by tire) which sits against the fuse. the gear operates fine but it hits that spot when pulled up. I am playing with shimming the front of the gear mount to just give it enough clearance to not touch. after that, to the gear door and fences and will be final install.
