I use denier(cordura) nylon and some 1/4" closed cell foam and make padded wing bags. Its a little more expensive but a set for my hotspot (wing and fins), bobcat (wings) cost me about 35.00 to make with velcro closures. They still look brand new and they are 9 years old. They are water resistant, very protective, easy to clean, and they don't scratch the wings.
