+1 on what Rusty said.
If you're concerned about the model's durability, I'd suggest finding a proper bumper set for it. I know, it's a buggy, and they don't look so great with big ol' honkin' bumpers on, but a proper bumper set is the best thing you can do to keep your model in one piece. Finding one that'll FIT may be a bit challenging, as I doubt the aftermarket makers like RPM or T-Bone Racing will make one specific to your model, but you may be able to find one that could be made to fit.
The other thing my buddy and I did to protect our cars in the area we run in, was to make "crash barriers". We have a race course laid out around some trees, and trees can BITE. We got 10in tall orange safety cones and placed several of them against each tree, on the face we might hit. Then, we also wrapped a 10in-wide strip of that blue sleeping pad foam used for camping around each tree and set of cones. The foam provides padding, the cones direct impact energy up and away. They've saved us countless times.
