Only thing I changed on one airplane were the control horns, didnt seem to have a large enough footprint.
I did the same with my Edge. The single shaft in the pre-cut hole struck me as being a little prone to movement after a while.
I also ended up changing the wheel pants, but I did fit the supplied plastic tail fairing, which ended up looking OK.
