Dawg, that's a great idea, with a little creativity a bar could be fit across the top bolts as you said, a tab could easily be bent to fit under the carb tab into the notch and voila. I leave all JBWeld in the store that sells it, that stuff is pure unadalterated junk and any fix using it is just too ugly for me.
