No frequency controls is really irresponsible on the part of that other group. Unless they are all 2.4. Do they even sell 72 mhz radios anymore? At this point, I can see no reason to stick with 72mhz. But I was one of those that wanted it as soon as it came out.
Like you said, this was supposed to be a solution for insuring that fliers are members at a larger club where you don't know everyone. Unfortunately compliance isn't good. I checked this morning and there were probably 8 or 9 pilots flying and 3 badges posted. One of the guys was flying 72.
