After many MANY years of Hitec and Futaba servos, I made the leap of faith to others I had never heard of on advice from a flying buddy. To be fair, I had seen him using these servos (the ones I suggested above) for an entire season prior to doing that.

I don't see the harm in testing the water prior to jumping in. Save them for another project you aren't so attached to.
