I have flown a variety of disciplines where keeping visual track of the model was a challenge.

The only time I would use polarized lenses would be in low sun conditions.

At all other times my Axis Rangers are the go to shades. They really make the model stand out against clouds and grey skies. Also they are a secret weapon if you are flying gliders using thermals as they really help with cloud definition.

Mind you in my current life polarized sunglasses are a major safety item when using eyeball navigation in reef strewn water.
