I have a lot of R/C stuff that I bought from Tamiya, Mato, and other manufacturers to keep me happy when I want to play with my tanks. My Tamiya Pershing is the only tank I have for battles. But nothing is more fun for me than scratch building.
I am pretty much there too myself. With my health and mobility, doctors/hospital bills and co-pays (well... you see the picture) I have decided that not all projects MUST be RC. I'll finish with what I have already set aside and kits I have yet to build but the ones without the gear will be static as most of my RC stuff might as well be static too as it just collects dust.
