I had the same problem with an OS remote needle assy. The plastic housing had cracked, AND NOT FROM ANY CRASH. I removed the screw in the carb that closed off the threaded hole that the normal positioned valve would have been in and screwed the valve parts into that. Did away with the remote assy. Note: not all OS carbs were that way. Some did not have any provision for a proper NVA placement. Later OS carbs had the angled back needle. I have done that with other carbs that were locked in by a pinch sleeve by loosening the pinch bolt and rotating the carb so the needle is angled back. I don't do OS anymore; "their improvements" are not so much that.
