Default Chinese engines remote needle problem

Hi guys!

I have a problem with couple of Chinese made engines (one is SC, another Kyosho). I have a permanent air leak form the remote needle (air bubbles in the pipe). I do not know to seal it properly. I never had problem with "normal" carbs.

Thx
Peter

They are probably not air bubbles. As the fuel goes past the needle the pressure drops and some of the fuel flash's into bubbles. That is why they are no longer popular.

I had the same problem with an OS remote needle assy. The plastic housing had cracked, AND NOT FROM ANY CRASH. I removed the screw in the carb that closed off the threaded hole that the normal positioned valve would have been in and screwed the valve parts into that. Did away with the remote assy. Note: not all OS carbs were that way. Some did not have any provision for a proper NVA placement. Later OS carbs had the angled back needle. I have done that with other carbs that were locked in by a pinch sleeve by loosening the pinch bolt and rotating the carb so the needle is angled back. I don't do OS anymore; "their improvements" are not so much that.

sincerely, Richard

Thank you for your replies,

I will try to replace the pipe with larger internal diameter one. Two engines - same problem .

Thank you
Peter

Hi!
What's the problem besides "air bubbles"?
You can mount the needle directly on the carb if you like.
But I would first check the tank for leaks.
The Kyosho .40 engine is one of the most Power full sport engines on the market and throttle and run extremely well if set up properly. I run mine on 5% nitro and either 20% castor oil or 15% all syntetic (Motul Micro) and a Nova Rossi 4 glow plug and a 0,1mm head shim or no head shim at all.
That engine turns a 10x6 RAM at 15000rpm (at sea level).
