RE: Capiche 50
OK, 3 flights on the Capiche which were all thoroughly enjoyable. The heli only got 1 flight so this may just convert me back yet. The engine was producing over 10K rpm on a 13x6 which seemed plenty of power with what I have tried so far.
All normal aerobatics were done with ease and in the strong wind I thought it handled them with ease.
Knife edge is nearly neutral even at until the absolute extremes, just a touch of down needed, so moving CofG back should help this - knife edge loop with relative ease, and I almost managed a 540degree stall turn.
Hovering and torque rolls I only did up high, due to needing to sort my engine out a bit more, but it was climbing on 1/3 to 1/2 throttle and it was hard to stop it climbing so I will have to put a throttle curve in I think.
Walls and waterfalls were great but when I tried a parachute and flip-flop type parachute (whatever that's called) it would only go to 45 degrees nose down so I am hoping moving the CofG should help improve this.
All types of flicks and spins were tryed with some really interesting results. The stationary or possibly slightly climbing inverted flat spin was good.
My favourite maneouvre so far with it though is knife edge to knife edge flicks done in circuit - no over-rotation and I hit straight back to knife edge each time.
I let a friend fly it aswell, and he seemed suitably impressed and was chucking it about as if he had been flying it for ages, right from takeoff. It is certainly a confidence inspiring plane and for it's size is very capable. After only 3 flights I am already comfortable with it and I can see that it has even more potential, with a few minor changes to my setup.
Can't wait to get out and fly it some more
