As I recall KC the first one was powered with an OS .46SF and the second with a Rossi .40 that had previously been my Q500 engine of choice. Both were substantially over powered. I am reminded by our conversation that a good friend of mine modified one into V-tail configuration for warbird racing as well. There was a single full size example tested with a V-tail and it worked so well on the Quickie 500 race planes that we thought it might have some advantage on a warbird racer too. Pretty sure I have some pictures (35mm) of that one around somewhere. If I can find any I will have them scanned and post them here.
