Hi guys, I'm looking to begin building a 3dx, but I have a question. I'd like to go the brushless route, but I'm a complete beginner to the whole electric flight thing. I've found its seductive power and cleanliness difficult to resist, but I find most details of it totally baffling. The formula for the plane is quite specific and I appreciate that, Razor 350 and GWS 350 gearbox.. BUT.. from what I can tell there isn't a Razor to be purchased, ANYWHERE.
Since I don't really understand much about electric flight yet I have no way to figure out what would be a good substitute. I've seen mention of the MP Jet 25/35-20.. not efficient, okay, but it's cheap and it's AVAILABLE.. are there any other good alternatives? I'd like to use the 3 cell Lithium power option as well.. 20 minute+ flight times sound like a good thing to me.

If possible I'd like a motor I could put on something a little bigger (or faster) at a later date, which it sounds like the Razor 400 would qualify as (if I could FIND one...). I could be wrong, but that's the best I can figure out from all this. It's just that now that I've discovered building models with foam I've got all sorts of ideas of future projects I'd like to undertake.. once I've built a 3dx and flown it into the ground, that is. And I'd like to be able to use the same motor for them.
