I'm running 3 1200mah li-polys which as far as I know is the "hot" set-up but with a 350C/D motor, as I am running, you hafta be very careful with the throttle or the brushes in the motor go bye bye. The reason I bought the 3 cell pack is that I plan on upgrading to a motor such as a razor when I smoke this 350. Anywho, I don't really know if the discharge rate on li-ion batteries is the same as li-polys, but the 3DX will fly on two high capacity li-polys. Sorry if I caused any confusion but I didn't even realize that you wrote li-ions as opposed to li-polys. This airplane crap is getting complicated.
