There are a ton of free Ad blockers out there. At least there are for Mac, I assume there would be more for PC.

I hear ya though, occasionally I need to pause the blocker (History Channel videos freeze when the commercials come up) and if I surf here during the commercial it's a shock to see basically an ad with a some posts stuck between.

It was one of the reasons I walked away from this place a while back, but then my son was using my computer one day and asked what was wrong with me. I grabbed a blocker and haven't looked back.

By the way, there are tons of forums out there and this is the only one I have ever come across ads on. I mean even when searching for a car or appliance repair and you get the Subaru owners, or Maytag, or plumbers etc. forum. No ads, just people talking.

I get it, there's advertising that keeps the lights on, but then there's advertising that creates a profit.
