O.S. .46 SF Max Restorations; HELP!
Frankly one of the things I love most about model airplanes is the diversity of things to learn. I fell in love with my old O.S. .46 SF Max ABN engines a loooooong time ago. I was lucky with the plating issues some were plagued with. I have rebuilt and re-bearing several in the past and I had access to a big rack of parts at my local hobby shop. I decided to do some phoenix work on a couple that were run dry and Mystery oiled about 20 years ago. Now I'm looking for a recommendation on the material to re-cut the back plate gasket. Carefully removed and compressed for years miked out at .009 and seem to be like a vellum material. I have a lead on some resin soaked vellum gasket material but does anyone know if a fresh thickness is around? .015, ?????? Thanks.
(Also: I searched O.S. .46 SF for prior thread and got zip.)
