These guys will be happy to help with a decision as well as myself. As for the KT as mentioned above only the Tiger 1 mid version has the airsoft barrel recoil at this time. However all of our infrared models (except the Sturmtiger) have barrel recoil and a LED flasher in the barrel when firing to add to the realism. The infrared (IR) tanks do not however shoot airsoft BBs so they are much safer for children if you have those concerns. IR tanks are more fun if you have more than one to battle each other, but a single tank is usually more fun with airsoft. That would be up to you
I do have a nice used metal edition KT on the S&D section at the moment, it was driven pretty rough but the tank itself runs great and is a pretty good deal. However, I must warn you... when the tank bug bites, it is a hard one! These guys will all tell you! I usually suggest a plastic Tiger 1 tank to start with, our plastic Tiger 1 tanks come with our metal chassis, torsion bar suspension, and metal suspension arms to start. From there you can choose your upgrade path and can save enough money to buy two of them to IR battle for the same price as a metal King Tiger.
Well I do want an outdoors tank, Airsoft cause I like it more over infared, recoil is a minor thing and I'll find a way later on, I would like a metal one as I like the feel of metal more than plastic for RC items, as for the tank bug I've had it for a while but could only channel it through games or videos but now that I've seen the RC world of it I truly do want in. Heck I up until about a month ago I didn't think there was such a thing as RC tanks since no hobby store near me sold them. I would like to thank all of you that have welcomed me and given me advice. I do hope that I can be a part of this long tradition it seems. :-)
