Hey everyone, I'm new here and will be getting my first RC tank soon hopefully through this nice hobby shop near my house.
I'm in Florida and am trying to look for any tank clubs around Orlando but haven't had any luck. I'm hoping there's some people with higher knowledge on that topic but back to the other subject.
I'm completely new to all this but have loved WWII tanks and other vehicles for a long time, If anyone has any advice to give me please feel free to tell me. I hope I can have a great experience with this site.
Thank you for your time reading this.

Welcome General360!
My advice is to shop around for your price & options on the first tank purchase.

You are in Florida so look here at this site. http://www.taigentanks.com/ Erik is a member hare and supports us very well. This are good tanks. You can find some good deals on Henglong right now on ebay and if you look through some of the threads here there is a link to a seller with some real good prices. Then if you want a really nice kit there is always Tamiya. Best prices on those is through the AAF museum. https://www.aaftankmuseum.com/ They also host indoor battles on there RC tank field. Welcome to the site. You will find tanks are addicting.

Welcome!
This is the only place to buy a tank until they run out as far as I'm concerned. Just be sure to support Taigen if / when you go upgrade shopping.

Thank you very much for the advice and I've been leaning towards the IMEX Torro King Tiger Airsoft (all metal). I didn't go for the much cheaper plastic version since I have had bad experiences with expensive plastic items. I think the Erik you speak of is the one that the hobby store owners know. I'm really glad that there's WWII tanks all over, it kinda sucks that interest in WWII items are waning slowly but not much to do about that. But again thank you guys for the responses. :-)

Thanks guys! Yes, most likely it was me the hobby shops talk to. They like to talk a lot of techy stuff and I'm all about that
These guys here on RCU are honest and will be able to help with almost any questions you have. If you have any questions to me or about Taigen you are more than welcome to ask or PM at anytime
Welcome to the tanking community too! Unfortunately there aren't any active clubs I am aware of atm here, I am pretty sure there used to be one in Orlando, but that was at least 3-5 years ago minimum. I've had a few people ask me about a club, I think just finding the indoor space is the killer at the moment. Danville has an amazing battleground but is located in VA. However, if you are interested in infrared battles I would absolutely recommend a trip. They are great guys, it is inside a REAL tank museum, draws crowds, team based objective battles, and free demo tanks are usually there for those who want a try. Every one there is just having a great time, I've been twice now and can't wait for a third trip!

Thank you very much for the info, the only hobby shop that I've seen carry IMEX Taigen/Torro tanks is Remote Control Hobbies near Orlando Executive Airport which is barely a 5 minute drive from my house. I am interested in upgrading every now and then, mostly cause I like the sounds to be like the real thing and the movement but I'll wait a while before upgrading. Also I've been wondering, do the King Tiger Airsofts have Barrel recoil? If not then it's fine, was just curious.

If you want the best, Taigen has a King Tiger Infrared ( has to be Infrared to get recoil built in ) with Barrel recoil for $399.99. Or a Tiger I with Infrared for $439.00. They might have a black Friday so check with them. Depending on your budget you can find KT for $150.00 and up depending on where you find them, New or used.

Yea just figure out what you want to do with your tank first, then present that here for us. Example:
-Outside runner, airsoft gun wanted, etc
-Outside runner, infrared battles wanted, etc
These guys will be happy to help with a decision as well as myself. As for the KT as mentioned above only the Tiger 1 mid version has the airsoft barrel recoil at this time. However all of our infrared models (except the Sturmtiger) have barrel recoil and a LED flasher in the barrel when firing to add to the realism. The infrared (IR) tanks do not however shoot airsoft BBs so they are much safer for children if you have those concerns. IR tanks are more fun if you have more than one to battle each other, but a single tank is usually more fun with airsoft. That would be up to you
I do have a nice used metal edition KT on the S&D section at the moment, it was driven pretty rough but the tank itself runs great and is a pretty good deal. However, I must warn you... when the tank bug bites, it is a hard one! These guys will all tell you! I usually suggest a plastic Tiger 1 tank to start with, our plastic Tiger 1 tanks come with our metal chassis, torsion bar suspension, and metal suspension arms to start. From there you can choose your upgrade path and can save enough money to buy two of them to IR battle for the same price as a metal King Tiger.
