Pretty sure that's what it has to be. It's not a metric part either because it fits a 4-40 nut and the thread in the body is 4-40 too. I had some parts from my RC planes that were metric and they are too big.
Most if not all my Associated ball studs are 4.3mm (.169", or .17" depending on where a person looks) , and they are with 4-40 threads. They have always been like that on my RC10s. I don't know who, or why they just didn't use 11/64" for constructing the ball studs with 4-40 threads. Weird, I know.

Your .152" (3.8mm) ball studs are out there. Finding them with 4-40 threads...I give up .
