I guess you and I are the only ones that drink beer :-) I feel your pain. I have done similar stuff after a few, and being in a hurry. But, I have also made mistakes when I was sober. I have also gotten quite good with a razor saw, and cutting new parts. But, back to your problem.

I really can't tell if the box is glued/epoxied onto the firewall or not. If not, then no problem--unless the plans call for right or up/down thrust. I suspect it has both, in which case, the whole box will have to be remade. If not, sliding a deep razor saw around the three sides will free the box, and then just a little xacto around the top and it should come right off--but you probably figured that out by now. A little filing on the firewall, and your will be back almost where you started.

BTW, I still enjoy--and indulge--in drinking and building. But I have found that my beer gets pretty hot, and takes a long time to finish. After a couple, or three--depending on how warm they get in between--I put away my tools, set the plane on the kitchen table (after my wife goes to bed) and then drink away. I sometimes get tempted to pick up a tool--or glue--but, I DON'T. If that doesn't work for you, just glue your fingers to the can :-).
