He believed every maiden of a new airplane would present its own set of issues to be ironed out in future flights. Some would be easily remedy in one or two flights, others would take a number of flights. As you fine tune a new airplane the flying gets smoother and easier. I haven't seen anything to dissuade me he wasn't right.

I like reading the old magazines but Dr Hawkins doesn't ring any bells. Now I'm curious. Can you expand a bit on who he was?
