Side thrust is tough to add or adjust on an already built plane, and might mean having to construct or buy a new cowl. Sometimes it looks awkward as well. What you can do is use a rudder to throttle mix on your radio. Make it so that as you add throttle, a little rudder percentage is added as well. This way when you reduce power for landing, the plane won't swerve on you.
