Current efforts are focused on creating a couple of radiator "dog houses" for the Spit. The molded items that came with the kit are nicely done but only bear a passing resemblance to those found on the full size Mk.XIV Spitfire. I was able to track down the engineering drawings and those, combined with some very nice photos I found, were used to make up the new units in wood. We have also decided that the cooling doors will be functional and operated by mini servos. They will probably be tied to either the gear or flaps so that they are open at slow speeds and cleaned up for cruise and high speed flight. I think I have stumbled upon a really neat way to simulate the radiator itself and hope to show that in a day or two. There are still some other details to be added as well so stay tuned.
