Other manufacturers make a washer or a fan type disc that goes between where the halves meet. This is only to make it quiter, definitely not faster. I normally take them out or drill them bigger for more power. If you want to experiment, you can make a disc out of the aluminum pie plate material and sandwich it between the two or three halves to see what it does. Remember the backpressure will change depending where the pressure fitting is located, and will change your needle settings. The propane butane thing, I will not comment on without a lawyer. I was looking at a whistle on my workbench one day, and it really looked like a muffler. I was thinking of bending up one out of aluminum sheet to try some ideas out. Then thought maybe it would be louder, and might be fun to try. I don't think it was worth the effort, but as you say, it is a thought.
