Thought you might like to hear this one, not related to gyros but its still pure r/c stupidity.

I also fly slope soarers from a hill near my home, a real steep slope you would think twice about climbing down. Anyway, this guy was running with his model to launch it and gave a HUGE throw...........problem was that he threw the tranny instead of the model. I swear this is true and I must confess I came close to expiring I laughed so much, especially as his model twitched with the first couple of bounces of the tranny. I don't know if he ever found what remained of his tranny afterward as no-one was in any fit condition to offer to help him without laughing.

Poor guy
