RE: EDGE ARF
Here is my honest opinion on IMAC
The rules - always driven by the most keen and active competitors, have driven IMAC into the same old trap that hits all of the competition groups
That trap is in promoting as " truth", the idea that any plane size can be flown with equal chance for success.
Not true.
The reason is objective-not subjective.
The TIME it takes to fly the sequences changes with the size of the model.
Bigger models = more time --more time to correct --more time to present - etc.
This is an almost impossible edge to overcome ,unless you are very proficient - which most entry level flyers are not.
So-- even a very amateur newcomer can look good with a large model -which is less demanding to fly.
You can do well with a smaller model but you must must fly very well to place better than a less skilled presentation with a larger setup-
If you can fly and win with a smaller model -you are absolutely a better pilot.
We do have, locally, guys flying 50 size models - but this rarely goes beyond the first two classes.
The bigger models just plain ol present better .
I like the 50 size model for ease of relaxed flying and low cost of practice.
I just sold my last larger model - and will shortly start on another .-as soon as I finish 3, 40% models owned by others . --
