I'm just wondering if you guys actually read and understand what the FAA has said?
"Fly at or below 400 feet when in uncontrolled airspace (Class G)"

Class 'G' airspace is UN-CONTROLLED. Everything else IS controlled as in falls under direct ATC in some way. In class G full size are expected to stay at least 500 feet up (except when taking off, landing, crop dusting, etc.)

IF AMA gets waivers, I seriously doubt they will be for Class G airspace. And either way, I fully expect such waivers to be challenged in court as unconstitutional.

And near as I can tell, Speedy's club site is in Class 'C' (controlled) airspace. So I suspect the local ATC is well aware of their activities and has given them a pass to a specific altitude. Perhaps a permanent NOTAM for the full size guys. If true (the pass) and Speedy withheld the info intentionally, it again goes to show his real intentions and character.
