If you are talking about members here who try to harass and intimidate others by posting their personal pictures on here, then yes, it would!
Unfortunately, there is no way of knowing whether a newcomers' experience on these forums actually keep them from visiting a field. I HAVE however, witnessed many occasions where the GOB network at local clubs have intimidated a potential new member where they never came back.
