The new system doesn't work, plain and simple. But it doesn't seem to matter to the powers that be I guess. I understand the old platform was no longer supported, but it's been a year now. Surely in a year they could have come up with something new, more similar to the old system and had it in place. It's pretty clear they just don't want to. I hate forum based classifieds, that's what most places are and it was the one thing that truly separated RCU from the rest. The make offer feature, the billing feature, feedback from the seller actually visible on the same page as the ad, everything about the old system was good.
I guess I get it though. In this day and age it doesn't matter where you go, customer service is lacking, no matter what the industry. Forums have by and large gone the same way. It's like the attitude of the admin is "let them complain, they aren't going anywhere and if we do lose a few we'll gain a few anyways". So you see it happening. Myself included. When all these changes took place I said I was done with RCU as did many others. I even stayed away for a while. But none of the other forums picked up. People can say the jet forum on RCG is great, there is rarely anything going on. I came back here because frankly it was still the best place for jet discussion. I do not buy or sell in the RCU classifieds anymore though, they have definitely lost me there. I browse, but I haven't bought or sold anything on RCU since the changes. I just think it sucks that the attitude is who cares what the members want, eventually they will get on board.
That isn't our attitude at all. We understand your frustrations with the marketplace, and believe me, we share a lot of the frustrations. We wish we could roll out all the updates and fixes we have planned immediately, but it's just not something that is possible. For months we've been releasing updates and fixes based on the feedback we get for the site, and we have a lot more updates and fixes planned.
