Plane Processing at the 2019 Pattern NationalsThe following bullet points will be used for plane processing at the 2019 Pattern Nationals.
  1. All AMA class planes must have their AMA number or Owners name & address on or in the plane. This will be verified during plane processing prior to applying the processed confirmation sticker.
  2. All FAI planes must have their AMA number on the outside of the plane, numbers must be 25mm tall or larger (0.984”).
  3. There is no weight limit for Sportsman and Intermediate classes.
  4. All classes including Sportsman and Intermediate must meet the 2 meter rule in overall length and width
  5. Advanced class has a weight allowance of 115 grams.
  6. Advanced, Masters, and FAI classes have a 50 grams allowance.
  7. An advanced class plane can weigh no more than 5165 grams.
  8. Masters and FAI class planes can weigh no more than 5050 grams.
  9. Noise limits: AMA 96 Db(A), FAI 94 Db(A), Sound ,meter tolerance is +/- 1 Db(A), making the AMA meter reading limit 97 Db(A) and FAI 95 Db(A). A Courtesy sound check for FAI & Masters will be set up in the plane processing area. The planes of the finalist in Masters and FAI will be checked prior to their first finals flight.
  10. Every plane is subject to safety inspection during the plane processing as to rigging issues that may present a safety issue.
  11. Battery voltage: AMA & FAI limit is 42.56 volts plus a 1% tolerance which comes to 42.99 volts (42.9856v rounded up to the nearest 0.01v). It will be the responsibility of any pilot using the High Voltage LiPo battery packs for a flight, to bring it to the attention of the site director upon entering the ready box, and for the pilot to provide the voltage checker and prove to the Site Directors appointed witness the voltage of his pack meets these limits prior to the starting of your 3 minute clock.
  12. If you brought a backup plane, process it along with your primary plane during Tuesdays plane processing.
