With enough building experience, nearly everyone has done this at least once. We just don't talk about it
The suggestion of hyperflexing the hinge, and enlarging the slot or recreating it if glue is in it, is what I did to fix my experience with this issue. With some time and enough patience a hinge should be able to be wiggled in. Takes some doing, and cursing will likely occur half way through.. but it's do-able

The plane a Kadet arf soon to be camera plane. Did I mention I did this twice aileron and elevator It was not on the end but one from it. I think they give you 5 on ele and 4 on the rons
the toothpick pins, I think will make up for it I hope.
