While attatching and glueing my CA hinges and (rushing I might add) I inserted the hinges pushed the control surface on the hinge ok right buy the book, 4 drops each side when I fliped it over, one of the hinges was not in the slot Now I'm scr**ed. I cut it off (the single one) then decided to pin the rest I should do fine.I just cant believe I did this

Done that. I managed to get mine in by hyper-flexing the surface, slightly enlaring the slot opening and wedging the hinge in there. How many hinges remain in your surface?

The plane a Kadet arf soon to be camera plane. Did I mention I did this twice aileron and elevator It was not on the end but one from it. I think they give you 5 on ele and 4 on the rons
the toothpick pins, I think will make up for it I hope.

With enough building experience, nearly everyone has done this at least once. We just don't talk about it 
The suggestion of hyperflexing the hinge, and enlarging the slot or recreating it if glue is in it, is what I did to fix my experience with this issue. With some time and enough patience a hinge should be able to be wiggled in. Takes some doing, and cursing will likely occur half way through.. but it's do-able

To prevent this I simply insert a T pin in the center of the hinge. Then slide the hinge into the wing, tail etc and then slide the control surface on. Once it's in you you know that half the hinge is in each side and you also have a nice size hinge gap that's even. BTW, I also color a ceneter line on my hinges with a crayon to help the CA from soaking into the hinge on the hinge line. It helps to keep them a bit more flexible.

Oh man!!! I just posted this a few weeks ago in a thread called "annoying things that happen while building an ARF".
Yes, I did this exact thing. I glued the first one in. then I went to glue in the second one, fumbled with the wing, and somehow realized that the second one wasn't in. It slipped underneath the aileron and looked like it was in but it wasn't. So I had to really twist around the aileron since one of the hinges was in I could only move it so much. But finally I got it in. I thought after "what if I had gotten 3 out of 4 in and glued. There's no way I would be able to get the fourth one in. Even two out of four glued in would have been a distaster.
Anyway, yeah live and learn. No way around it.
