I usually use dowels hysoled in to the top wing (and hopefully hysoled to a former too). To these dowels, I bolt down the pylon and then I like to use BVM easy mounts for quick disconnections of the ordinance/drop tanks at the field.
I do the same for the hard-points, i.e., a dowel Hysol'ed into the wing at the top wing skin and at bottom wing skin that is then drilled and tapped for the pylon mounting bolts/screws. This can be done (carefully) on ARF wings with only needing to use touch-up paint on the end of the dowel after it is (carefully) sanded to be flush with the wing bottom skin. I have never had a hard point like this fail...
