They bend the knee to China so they can have direct access to mainland China so they can sell their news terminals to business world-wide. Those terminals and related business info generate about $10 Billion / year for Bloomberg, so it is in his best interest to keep China happy. China has recently been kicking out a lot of Western Media, but not Bloomberg.
