The turbines need to have down angle to stop low pressure air below tailplane causing a climb. Small turbines/pipes will help with separation.

As you mentioned, turbines are relatively small, and tail pipes are 56mm in Diameter too, So do you think about 2-3 degree would be okay? or more!!
