Looking outside of the usual Big 3. There are some more interesting modern designs, but they're too niche to find a 1/16 release.
There are also some rather interesting turret swaps such as the M60-2000 or the Tank EX. There is also just extreme modifications of older tanks like the Israeli made, Turkish service Sabra II/M60T.
Unfortunately though for every one interesting prototype there is like four boring ones.
It is pretty boring when another "mainstream" MBT releases. But money talks, especially with tooling and prototyping costs.
I personally would love to see more light armor of any kind. A 1/16 BMP Family vehicle would be amazing but alas I think such a thing would only be released under the brand "3D printed at home"
