You hit me in the head with this idea, yes, thought about it and spent lots of time in the last week watching youtube, looking for ideas to build/convert a boat, I even had a crazy idea convert my 36" Sonicwake to gas but quickly figured out it's not worthy, need to keep it as electric and wanted to add a gas boat instead, definitely will look into the kits.

Personally, I prefer to build from a set of plans since I've gotten into the "bad habit" of redesigning while I build. Since this would be, I'm assuming anyway, your first build(if you go that way) I'd recommend sticking with a kit that's a proven design. That's the reason I recommended a Zipp kit's boat
