This hobby did not develop over night. Tamiya was it for many years with just a couple tanks and they slowly expanded their line. Then there were the WSN junk and then the Mato sherman which was a start but a let down. Then HL came out and recently Taigen and Mato metal.
HL is clearly driving the hobby but not quite listening to customers as far as desired tanks. Small shops are filling the gaps but major companies will hopefully produce more arrays as time goes by. Asking for one tank a year is not too much from manufacturers but its probably hard for them to keep up. HL has been updated alot of their fleet of products to the 6.0 design with idlers that adjust and better parts. That is awesome as it shows improvement in existing products but it also distracts from development of newer products. We cant have it all though we all want it.
These last 2 years have been ridiculasly hard on companies. It will take a few years to recover from. Im amazed HL dropped the Merkeva really. We knew they had it. I think they just wanted to tick off Hooben at this point.
No doubt they will introduce a new tank next year or the year after, and hopefully it will be the M60.
