If they're performing their jobs in an incompetent way, then use of the term incompetent is accurate.
Additionally, if they can't take the heat, then either improve their performance or find another job.


When they won't answer simple questions, or demonstrate a total unwillingness to get better, an unwillingness to accept other points of view (not just mine, others have offered as well), etc., then yes. It becomes necessary to be blunt. But then again, if their skin is so thin they can't handle it, then see second sentence above.
