The quad copter fad has pretty much settled down around here. The people that do still fly them are also airplane guys. We do alright staying out of each others way and a couple of guys are good enough to fly formation with the airplanes. It is a shrinking world though. We occasionally get full scale traffic coming in over the city at at altitudes that the FAA wouldn't be happy with and we get a couple of powered parachutes that take off from the baseball field next door. Out in the country the biggest issue is pipeline spotters flying around at 100 feet.
On a happy note I'm probably going to fire up the K&B with the tongue muffler. The engine had been sitting for a long time and I thought it might need a full teardown but as soon as I warmed the case up a bit it flipped right over. Smooth bearings and excellent compression.
