Spinner finally set in! The side cut outs were slightly misaligned, so the spinner did not seat directly onto the back plate! No wonder I was having trouble!! A little work with a metal file on the plastic edges worked wonders, and it all seated over the crankcase nut, and the 2 alignment mounting screws lined up perfectly. Tightened them down with a 3/32 Allen Wrench, All tight!!
As soon as the rain lets up, I can run up the engine on its test bed outside!!
