Any Piper Cub makes a reasonable trainer. Again... note the tip on taildraggers and throttle management.
The Edge 540... (as Montey Python would say) is WAY OUT! You better be familiar with high performance aerobatics first.

www.sigmfg.com and Towerhobbies.com (and a BUNCH of other sources.) Tower has a listing of everythig you need to get one built.
I do recommend building using yellow glue in place of CA... Cheaper, doesn't add appreciably to the time it takes to build it either. (I built one in 3 days from box to test flight using yellow glue, and could do it in 36 hours if I needed to.) Plus, the yellow glue seems to hold the lite ply better than CA. (especially laminating the fuselage doublers)
