the extra is for precision and edge is for 3-d but i would choose the edge it is a great versatile plane sure you would have to work a little harder getting rolls axial but the edge is unstallable and virtually doesnt snap in high alpha manuevers the extra will, im 14 i know how you feel about an budget, get a fun-fly first something with a fuesalage like a morris the knife that will help you alot with aerobatics that will teach you alot learn how to torque roll hoovering rolling harrier etc. by then you have enough mony to get a big plane. im getting a 35% giles 202 with a g-62 but thats becuase its affordable in like sportmans you dont have to have the most expensive stuff of like everyone elses try to get sponsored and then money is not an object. in unlimited class it does help to have the most expensive stuff.any edge that is light and built correctly will be good and competitive and it doesnt have to be a 40% it is mostly youre fingers not youre plane. one day ill see ya at imac good luck
